Music Ministry
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Psalm 100:1-2
One of our Core Values as a congregation centers around the theme of Worship and Music. It reads: Worship is the celebration of God's gift of life. This provides us with the opportunity to return praise and thanksgiving to the source of our creation. Music is an integral part of this celebration. We embrace a blended approach to this creative expression believing that different styles of music speak to different needs in the hearts of God's people.
The Music Ministry at First Baptist offers the following opportunities to "make a joyful noise unto the Lord."
| Take-Note - Children 1-6 Grade | Praise Team - Youth & Adults | |
| Youth Bells - 6-12 Grade | Concert Bells - Adults | |
| Youth Choir - 6-12 Grade | Chancel Choir - Adults |

First Baptist Church has a vibrant and exciting music ministry! The Chancel Choir sings most every Sunday in worship and has plans to present a glorious Christmas cantata on Dec. 20 entitled "A Candlelight Christmas", accompanied by a small orchestra. The Youth Choir is made up of 6th-12th grade students, singing together with a beautiful blend. They provide special music occasionally and displayed their own musical entitled "Cool in the Furnace" this past year. The Take Note! Choir is an after-school activity on Mondays for 1st-6th grade children. They have sung in worship, at various retirement homes, at Dow Gardens and at the Midland Mall. On Dec. 6, they will present the musical "Sheik, Rattle, and Roll". The Praise and Worship Team is made up of several youth and adults and includes guitar, keyboard, bass and drums. They sing several Sundays each month and prepare a complete service occasionally with newer contemporary songs and personal testimonies. Handbells are an important part of our musical expression, and we have groups for youth and adults who play in worship regularly.
