Our Church Life
First Baptist Church is located on the corner of Washington and Sugnet streets in Midland, Michigan. Sunday Worship begins at 9:30 am and Sunday School begins at 11:00. Infants and toddlers may be cared for in our nursery during both Worship and Sunday School.
Our membership has diverse tastes in both worship style and music. Lay Leaders participate in leading worship, telling the children's story, making announcements, and leading our Children's Church. Occasionally, Lay Leaders lead the pastoral prayers and preach.
Hearing receivers are available in the Sanctuary. Tapes of services are delivered to shut-ins and available to anyone on request.
We have an active and growing Youth Group. It consists of youth from sixth through twelfth grade. The group is divided into Middle School and High School.
The church has a good relationship with the community. Our facilities are used by a Chinese School, the local Alcoholics Anonymous, Plymouth Elementary School, Boy Scouts, Campfire, Campus Life JV, and a basketball tournament. Members are involved in Habitat for Humanity, CROP Walk, Food Pantry Network, SHARE program, Midland Area Homes, Church Women United, UNICEF Committee of Midland, Voluntary Action Center, and many other local service organizations. We also share with those in need through our Deacons Fund.
